Trend: Floral jewellery for pre-wedding occasions

These days floral jewellery are quite in vogue. Especially for the pre-wedding celebrations like Haldi, Mehendi and Sangeet, more and more women are ditching traditional jewels and are warming upto it. But ever since Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu and Vidya Balan showed up in one, it has become a rage.

However, if you are under the impression that it is any recently developed European style, then you are wrong. In the Hindu mythology, this Damyanti style jewels were sported by none other than Mata Sita in the Treta Yug. It is therefore rightly said, histroy repeats itself and in case of fashion, it is a cycle of trends and this trend is the most welcoming one. It makes you look resplendent, it's unusual and above all, it's less expensive too.

What's more! From mangtikka to earrings and necklace, just like the metal makes, it too has options to adorn you from head to toe. Variety? Much to your delight, there is no cap on variety, as nature has blessed us with plethora of species in flowers. All that you can procure in your region are your options in design. Still to be specific, African Marigold is readily available in western India, while north India has Orchids, Lotus and Gladiolus in abundance.

Yet it is not completely a rosy affair. Since they are real flowers, they are delicate, you have to be careful about the handling, while putting on as well as during the revelry. After all, you would not want to let it witther away and mar the look of the whole set.

But most of all, it fails to deliver on sentimental quotient. With jewellery, women bond on a different level. For ages, it has been a mark of various memorable occasions and marriage is one of them. But since floral jewellery hardly last for two-three days, you can only cherish them through pictures.

Still, don't ignore the desire to adorn yourself with attractive blooms on the upcoming bridal occasion in your household.
