A big shout out to August borns!

August born, you are special. You have an edge over other babies. How? Firstly apart from June and December, it is you who has the option of wearing not just two but in all three gemstones to usher in good luck.  

Originally, it was only Sardonyx that was known as a birthstone for August borns. Alone it enjoyed the popularity amongst the babies of this month. As it infuses a vintage charm into a jewel with its combination of sard and onyx, resulting into red zebra stripes, it still continues to rule the roost. 

Later on, Peridot too was added as the birthstone for August borns. With its lime green glow, it seemed to be a boon to them. They loved the way it amped up the look and feel of their jewels. No wonder, soon it became the primary of this month. 

But recently, in 2016, Spinel changed the game and in a big way. Since it can found in a variety of colours, giving them numerous design options, it has become the first choice for this month's people. Another interesting trivia about this stone is that initially it was confused to be ruby or sapphire. But finally it has got an identity of its own as a gemstones as well as a birthstone for August borns.
