With that, various designs that is carved on the metal surface find a new meaning. It adds colours that pop up against the metal beautifully.  It infuses more realness to the whole creation.   At times, it also tranforms a simple design into a masterpiece. Whether to talk about its Persian origin or narrate about its glorious rise during the Raja Man Singh's rule in Mewar. Or should I tell you how it was merely used to adorn the back of Kundan jewellery , later moved on to become reversible jewellery and ultimately, carved its own niche in the glittering world of jewels . You can't look regal without this jewellery!

India has a rich jewellery heritage . The more you explore, the more amazed you are. Some of the designs have continued to rule the roost, while the few that are hardly seen today, are still around to tell the story of our glittering past and Sarpech is one of them.  With its roots in Rajasthan, Sarpech is essentially a head jewel that graced the beauty of royals. You may have seen Hrithik Roshan wearing it in the film Jodha Akbar for the role of Akbar. Even Ranveer Singh sported it in Bajirao Mastani for his part as Bajirao. Love Polki? You'll love the Chakri too.

Image
Polki jewellery is a dream. Women wish to flaunt this coveted design at least once in their lifetime. But Chakri is another jewellery setting that is close to their heart. For the unversed, Chakri is essentially a Rajathani design . A number of small uncut diamonds are set into round facets of gold jewellery to create a Chakri jewel. Many tiny facets, closely placed, embedded with Chakri makes for an alluring pattern on a range of jewels. Whether you want to have them on neckwear or an earrings , it elegantly adorns the whole set. While it bejewels the collar as a Choker , the regal design of the Chakri earring s make it hard for anyone to take eyes off them. Truly, worth enlisting in your jewellery bucket list.
