Where in the world live insect jewellery is worn?

Live insect jewellery? Yes you read that right. Through history, live insect jewellery has been popular. Many attractive insects are worn in many culture as jewels.

FYI, the Egyptians may have been the first to do so, wearing Scarab Beetles into battle. Apart from that, the Mexican Maquech Beetle and Giant Madagascar Hissing Cockroach too have been used in jewellery by them.

But they are not alone to have this bizzare penchant. In Britain too, the Victorians loved live insect jewellery. Often they would sport huge, vivid live beetles attached to their clothing by tiny, fine gold chains.
