PNG Jewellers to open two new stores. Read on to know where!


Jewellery lovers from Pimple Saudagar and Badlapur have a reason to rejoice. Your favourite jewellery brand - PNG Jewellers, is now opening in your neighbourhood. Isn't it great news? High five!

FYI, these two new store are actually PNG Jewellers' franchise stores and are the result of PNG's newfound expansion strategy. Recently, the brand had decided to break out from its family business mould and explore other opportunities to expand its presence and therefore, had launched the Initial Franchise Offer (IFO) program.

In no time, the 185-year-old brand got tonnes of applications from aspiring entrepreneurs and there on, there has been no looking back. Last month only, they had announced the launch of their first franshise store in Badlapur, Thane and soon after, now in Pimple Saudagar, Pune.

With this pace, the brand can make it to your city or town any time soon. So, keep watching this space for more.

Kudi earrings: then and now!

Kudi earrings is one of the most popular traditional Maharashtrian jewellery. Essentially, it is designed by stringing pearls together into a floral pattern. The string used to hold the pearls together may be made of gold or a nylon thread. While it is an out and out handmade jewel, it amps up the wearer's festive look.  But with time, this traditional jewel underwent a major makeover. Instead of pearls, now it is also designed into gold. The look and feel of the beads are achieved by carving it in gold. In some cases, the pearls are used, just that they are embedded in the gold frame and not typically strung together. Even in this form, Kudi earrings continue to rule the roost.  That's not all. Ever since gemstones have developed a fan-base in India, ruby and emerald-studded designs too have been gracing this segment of jewellery .
