This melting pot is therefore one of the most fascinating places in India. Especially the glitter of its unique jewels is hard to resist.

FYI, if you visit the city today, you will find many jewellery shops situated near Jayaji Chowk, also known as Maharaj Bada. While shopping for jewellery, bead and metal designs worn by the tribes would mesmerise you no end. The Gwalior's speciality in Jalli (Lattice) work, Jabalpur and Tikamgarh's animals statues and human figurines and the majestic gold and silver jewellery, studded with precious and semi-precious stones and pearls, will also compel you to indulge in.

Hold your breath, some of the jewels also come with enamel work in their patterns and the sight of them is truly mesmerising. That's not all. Even married women, amongst you, can Gwalior-ify their style. There is no dearth of design options in Mangalsutra and Hansuli to spoil yourself silly. But some of the special type of bangles made here, using lac and glass and the anklets of clove shaped beads, will have a magical effect on you and will beckon you to come here again and again.
